An 85th minute goal by John Douglas enabled Silsden to gain revenge for their early season 4-0 home defeat by Barnoldswick at Victory Park on Tuesday night.

One Mo award for Yanks’ Rivera

Milestone Mo Rivera grabs our New York Player of the Week award for nailing down the all-time save record last week. In addition to save No. 602, Rivera had another one to extend his own record, notched three scoreless appearances overall and was recognized by Major League Baseball as AL Player of the Week, too. They give you a watch for that, have we mentioned it?

Not nearly as significantly, Rivera also moved into first place in our season-long competition, moving one point ahead of Curtis Granderson and two points up on Robinson Cano and CC Sabathia.

New England Patriots Report Card: Week 3

Welcome back to Sports of Bostons weekly report card for the New England Patriots. Well, Sundays game against the Buffalo Bills was a stinker of historic proportions. The Patriots blew a 21-point lead, Tom Brady threw four picks, Bill Belichick somehow wasted a crucial timeout in the final minute of the game, and the Patriots lost, 34-31. Heres our take on who deserves a lot of the blame for the Patriots first loss to the Bills in 16 games, and who only deserves a little.

UCLA’s Josh Smith is receptive to carrying the ball

Wide receiver Josh Smith showed once again that UCLA has playmakers.

Smith hauled in a 62-yard reception on the Bruins’ first touchdown drive against Oregon State on Saturday. He finished with two receptions for 76 yards.
