Carson poised for move abroad

Turkish side Bursaspor are on the verge of completing a £2m move for West Brom keeper Scott Carson.

Baggies boss Roy Hodgson has made no secret of his desire to sign a big-name keeper during the close season and Carson is on the verge of signing a three-year contract in Turkey in a bid to guarantee first team football.

The ex-England international was signed by former manager Tony Mowbray for £3.25 million in 2008 but suffered a dip in form during last season and Hodgson wants to add a new stopper to his squad before the players return to pre-season training next month.

West Ham’s Robert Green, Manchester City’s Shay Given and Newcastle’s Steve Harper have all been linked with moves to the Hawthorns in recent weeks and Hodgson is set to step up his bid to bring in a new first-choice keeper in the next week.
