Roberto Mancini believes that City deserve a top-four finish after spending much of the season in the Champions League places.
City are next in action on Monday against a Liverpool side that has enjoyed better fortunes under the stewardship of Anfield legend Kenny Dalglish.
It is one of seven games remaining for City, matches that Mancini knows are key as the club aims to meet their target for the season of securing a Champions League berth.
He said: “We now have seven games until the end of the season and we will do everything to be in the Champions League next season.”
However, Mancini feels that City have shown enough consistency to secure a top-four berth.
Speaking to the Daily Mail he added: “I think we deserve to achieve this (a Champions League place) because we have been at the top most of the season with United and Arsenal, always being between first and fourth position.”
Meanwhile, Mancini has underlined what a key player Adam Johnson is. The England man has recently returned to action following an ankle injury and the manager said: “He is an important player for the team. When he was injured it was difficult for us.”
