Tottenham Hotspur have rejoined the race for Manchester City forward Emmanuel Adebayor despite the former Arsenal star’s desire to join Real Madrid.

The Togolese forward has reiterated his desire to return to the Bernabeu and the striker’s place at Eastlands has become almost untenable with relations between the player and Roberto Mancini at breaking point.

Spurs are reportedly exploring a loan deal with a view to a permanent one in a year’s time, but Jose Mourinho may yet endeavour to resign the player he had on loan for the second half of last season according to the Daily Mail.
